Tiles R Us is the an online ecommerce shop selling high end natural stone tiles; they are wholly an internet based company with no showrooms or high-street shops. Their design brief was to design a website with an effective ecommerce shopping cart to sell pallets of tiles to various destinations within the uk.
As tiles are very ‘hands on’, we developed the site with emphasis on showcasing the tiles as large as possible, with high quality imagery. In order to assist with the sales of their products, we suggested that Tiles R Us should sell small samples of their products online to their potential customers. This allowed the web customers to ‘try’ the tiles before committing to purchasing a high volume of tiles (which is not easy to return!).
We devised the ecommerce shopping cart to calculate various shipping costs based on the UK postcodes; the website also calculates shipping based on weight due to underfloor heating costing very little to deliver compared to that of 2 tonne of tiles.
Tiles R Us has now become a highly prosperous internet business, competing with national high street brands. The director of the company has praised our web designers consistently with their design skills and knowledge on internet marketing and search engine optimisation.
