This new website may not look overly impressive on the outside, but underneath it’s a monster!
The client is part of the UK’s largest national cycling organisation. Upon initial briefing, they requested that we build them a fully functional online booking system for their ATOL and ABTOT holidays. As their business model was unique, a typical third party booking system would not suffice, the website would have be fully bespoke, hand coded and brute-tested over a two year period.
Once our web designer’s had their web visuals approved, our web developers set off to build the fully bespoke website and hand-code it with a mammoth amount of scripting.
The website consists of the following features:
- Holiday creation with have various approval and amendment stages and released at certain dates
- Online booking system with integrated online payments
- Customer dashboard allows customers to manage tours, download holiday documantation
- Automatic PDF creation of holiday brochures, ATOL/ABTOT certificates, payment receipts
- Multi-level admin control panel for administering users, holiday, payments
- Online business reporting tools with data exporting facility
- Advanced SEO and digital marketing methods applied
Over 2 years of website build and development, the new website received design tweaks, user interface upgrades, the functionality evolved, thoroughly tested, fine-tuned and was finally released with overwhelming success.
Prior to the new website being built and launched, customer bookings were very slow, the customer would download a booking form, then the tour manager would approve it and send an invoice for payment, then a cheque would be sent back to the tour manager, who in turn would then forward it to the accounts department and then manually issue a payment receipt and another department would then create an ATOL certificate! …this could take several weeks before the whole customer booking process was completed. This was a prehistoric method and as they were a huge organisation, struggled to move to a fully automated booking system.
This is where our web designers and developers shone through! not only did we convert them over to a fully automated system, but we sped up their turnover dramatically. At the moment, a customer can book a tour within minutes and it can be approved, paid online and all payment receipts and ATOL/ABTOT certificates created instantly. …it has changed the way they manage bookings forever!
