Our Bridged based web design studio has been approached by several different catering supplies companies to build their e-commerce websites. On this occasion we were asked not asked to build an e-commerce website for a catering business, Instead our Bridgend web developers were asked to fix an existing Magento e-commerce website as it had been built, half optimised, but then left for the buisiness owners to maintain. However as the business owners have no idea how to update this e-commerce software, it quickly became outdated and eventually hacked.
This catering company approached the web developers for help in order to fixing their Magento website. Our web development team took the task of going through all of the HTML pages, scanning for any anomalies, removing the malicious coding that Injected by the hackers.
Our web development team then undertook several security exercises to prevent this from happening again. They took the e-commerce website and increased its security levels whilst adding several customisations and plug-ins to prevent any body from gaining access onto the website again in a malicious manner.
During this task I web developers also noticed several search engine optimisation tasks that needed to be added to this e-commerce website and applied this as they went along.
As phase 2 of this website development, the Bridgend catering company also asked us To replicate the website so that they could use it for renting products as well as selling used products. This meant our Bridgend web developers needed to turn the e-commerce website into a multi-site environment.
This Bridgend company has seen a massive increase in the catering rental sector. They have realised that the main market is through hire/rental and they have concentrated less on the online sales. The website has become more of an online brochure rather an actual shopping cart.
